Itinerary
7 Days Kenya and Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Morning
- Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi. You will be met by your safari guide and a brief introduction about the upcoming safari.
Afternoon
- Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or your hotel.
- Optional visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (elephant orphanage) or Giraffe Centre.
Evening
- Overnight stay at a hotel in Nairobi.
- Meals: Lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Nairobi to Maasai Mara
Early Morning
- After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara (approximately 5-6 hours drive) or fly to Maasai Mara (1 hour).
Midday
- Picnic lunch en route or check in at your lodge/camp and then lunch.
Afternoon
- Enjoy your first game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Evening
- Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 3: Maasai Mara
Morning
- Early morning game drive to witness wildlife at their most active (optional hot air balloon ride followed by a bush breakfast).
Midday
- Return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon
- Continue with an afternoon game drive or visit a Maasai village to experience the local culture.
Evening
- Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 4: Maasai Mara to Serengeti
Early Morning
- Depart the Maasai Mara after breakfast and head to the Serengeti. You can travel by road (approx 6-7 hours) or opt for a short flight from Maasai Mara to Serengeti.
Midday
- Arrive in the Serengeti, check into your lodge/camp, and have lunch.
Afternoon
- Go for your first game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Evening
- Return for dinner and overnight.
- Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 5: Serengeti
Morning
- Early morning game drive to spot lions, elephants, and other wildlife.
Midday
- Return to lodge for lunch.
Afternoon
- An extended game drive in the Serengeti, focusing on areas with high wildlife concentration.
- Optional visit to a local Maasai village.
Evening
- Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Day 7: Ngorongoro to Arusha

- Depart for Arusha (approximately 2-3 hours drive) or airport transfer for your onward journey or flight home.
