Itinerary
4 Days Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Morning
- Depart from Mombasa early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) and drive to Tsavo East National Park (approx. 2-3 hours).
- Stop at a viewpoint for breakfast while enjoying the scenic views.
Midday
- Arrive at Tsavo East and check into your lodge/camp.
- After checking in, freshen up and have lunch.
Afternoon
- Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Tsavo East, featuring vast savannahs and abundant wildlife such as elephants, lions, zebras, and giraffes.
- Visit the famous Aruba Dam, where several animals come to drink water.
Evening
- Return to your lodge/camp for dinner.
- Optional night game drive (depending on the lodge’s offerings).
Day 2: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park
Morning
- Early breakfast at your lodge.
- Checkout and head towards Tsavo West National Park (approx. 1-2 hours drive).
Midday
- Arrive in Tsavo West and enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation.
- Check into your lodge/camp and have lunch.
Afternoon
- Visit the Mzima Springs, a beautiful oasis with crystal-clear water and a chance to see hippos and crocodiles.
- Take a short nature walk around the springs (if offered).
Evening
- Return to your lodge/camp and relax.
- Dinner will be served at your accommodation.
Day 3: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park
Morning
- Have breakfast at the lodge and check out.
- Depart for Amboseli National Park (approx. 1.5-2 hours drive).
Midday
- Arrive at Amboseli and check into your lodge/camp.
- Enjoy lunch with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro if the weather permits.
Afternoon
- Go for a game drive in Amboseli National Park, known for its incredible elephant herds and breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro.
- Spot various wildlife, including lions, wildebeests, and various bird species.
Evening
- Return to your lodge/camp for dinner.
- Enjoy an evening at leisure; some lodges may arrange for cultural visits to Maasai villages.
Day 4: Amboseli to Mombasa
Morning
- Early breakfast, followed by a morning game drive to catch the early risers and see animals in their natural behavior.
- Head back to the lodge for a refresh before checkout.
Midday
- Check out and begin your journey back to Mombasa (approx. 4-5 hours drive).
- Stop along the way for a lunch break at a designated restaurant or picnic area.
Afternoon
- Continue your drive back to Mombasa with a few en route stops for breaks and to enjoy the scenery.
Evening
- Arrive in Mombasa by late afternoon.
- Drop off at your hotel or the airport.
