Itinerary
2 DAYS TSAVO EAST AND TSAVO WEST ITINERARY
Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Morning
- 7:00 AM: Depart from your accommodation in Mombasa.
- Travel Time: Approximately 2-3 hours drive (depending on traffic).
- Transport: Private safari vehicle with a driver-guide.
Late Morning
- 10:00 AM: Arrive at Tsavo East National Park.
- Entry: Pay park entrance fees at the gate.
- Game Drive: Begin your first game drive exploring the park known for its vast landscapes and wildlife including elephants, lions, and various antelope species.
Midday
- 12:30 PM: Picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park. Enjoy a packed lunch prepared by your safari provider.
Afternoon
- 1:30 PM: Continue your game drive in Tsavo East, and enjoy the breathtaking views, especially of the Yatta Plateau and lava flows.
Evening
- 5:00 PM: Depart Tsavo East and head to your lodge/camp within the park.
- Accommodation: Stay at lodges like Voi Safari Lodge or Tsavo Safari Camp, which provide comfort and great views.
- Dinner: Enjoy dinner at the lodge, followed by relaxation or an optional evening game drive.
Day 2: Tsavo West National Park Exploration
Morning
- 6:00 AM: Early breakfast at your lodge.
- 7:00 AM: Depart for Tsavo West National Park (a short drive).
- Game Drive: Enjoy a morning game drive. Look out for the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, including the Mzima Springs, where you can see hippos and crocodiles.
Late Morning
- 10:00 AM: Stop at Mzima Springs for a short break. You can take a nature trail and possibly see underwater viewing areas.
Midday
- 12:30 PM: Head back to your lodge or a picnic site for lunch.
Afternoon
- 1:30 PM: Enjoy another game drive in Tsavo West. Keep an eye out for more wildlife and scenic views.
Late Afternoon
- 3:30 PM: Start your journey back to Mombasa.
- Travel Time: Approximately 2-3 hours.
Evening
- 6:00 PM: Arrive back at your accommodation in Mombasa.
