Itinerary
2 DAYS TSAVO EAST AND SALT LICK ITINERARY
Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park
Morning
- 6:00 AM: Depart from your hotel in Mombasa.
- 6:30 AM: Stop for breakfast at a local café (breakfast packaged if preferred).
- 7:30 AM: Arrive at Tsavo East National Park.
Mid-Morning
- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Enjoy a morning game drive in Tsavo East National Park. Look out for elephants, lions, cheetahs, and diverse bird species.
Midday
- 12:30 PM: Have a picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park.
Afternoon
- 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Continue your game drive in Tsavo East. Visit the famous Mudanda Rock for stunning views, and explore various waterholes frequented by wildlife.
Evening
- 4:30 PM: Depart Tsavo East and head to Salt Lick Lodge.
- 5:30 PM: Arrive at Salt Lick Lodge, where you can check in and refresh.
Night
- 7:00 PM: Enjoy dinner at the lodge dining area, followed by an evening briefing of activities.
- 8:30 PM: Overnight at Salt Lick Lodge. Enjoy the view of wildlife from the lodge’s viewing deck.
Day 2: Salt Lick Lodge and Tsavo West National Park
Morning
- 6:00 AM: Optional early morning game drive in the surrounding Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
- 8:00 AM: Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Late Morning
- 10:00 AM: Check out of Salt Lick Lodge.
- 10:30 AM: Depart for Tsavo West National Park.
Midday
- 12:30 PM: Picnic lunch in Tsavo West, possibly at a scenic spot like Mzima Springs to view hippos and crocodiles.
Afternoon
- 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Embark on an afternoon game drive in Tsavo West. You’ll have opportunities to spot more wildlife, including the rare black rhino, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species.
Evening
- 4:30 PM: Depart Tsavo West for Mombasa.
- 7:00 PM: Arrive back in Mombasa, drop-off at your hotel.
